Gangtok, Darjeeling and Lachung Tour Overview

Gangtok, Darjeeling and Lachung Tour Itinerary

Day 1
As soon as you step out of the Airport or the Railway Station, our representative will receive you and assist your transfer to the breathtaking cloud-weathered Buddhist pilgrimage – Gangtok. On the way to the hotel, you will experience more alluring and mesmerising attractions of the twisting hill roads which are worthy of remark.
After reaching Gangtok, all you need to do is to check in at the hotel and spend overnight to re-energise yourself with appetizing food and cosy rooms so that you can enjoy the awaiting adventure on the following day.
Day 2
To begin with the first day of excitement, your ride will be ready at a fresh hour of the morning, around 8 am.Today you will be visiting the Tsomgo Lake and the Baba Harbhajan Mandir. Both of these places form some famous tourist destinations in Gangtok.

Tsomgo Lake
In the wake of 3 hours drive, you will reach the first stop which is one of highest altitude lakes of India, Tsomgo Lake, also known as Changu Lake. It finds itself at 12,400 ft or 3750 m above sea level. The word ‘Tsomgo’ means ‘the source of water’ that turns the lake into a sacred spot for the locals which is surrounded by spectacular mountain peaks.


Baba HarbhajanMandir
It is constructed as a tribute to a significant personality of Indo-Pak War of 1965, Captain Harbhajan Singh. Many Indian guards as well as Chinese sentries believe that his soul is still alive, protecting the country hence turning the place into a pilgrimage.

Nathula Pass- Optional Tour
Located in the East Sikkim district, Nathula Pass connects India with China’s autonomous region, Tibet. Also, it forms a trunk of ancient silk road where Indian tourists can visit only after obtaining permission in Gangtok. To illuminate your trip, you can also pick this optional tour on the same day by paying an extra charge.
Or else, you can simply end your day going back to your space of leisure in your hotel rooms and luxuriate for your escapade approaching the next day.
Day 3
Wake up early in the morning and freshen up with reinvigorating breakfast because your next destination will take 6 long hours of driving to reach a mountain village. This small village is the summation of scenic beauty, spiced up with dark mountains at a height of 8800 ft. It is a prepossessing hamlet in Northern Sikkim which promises the rural magic that will bring you to wonderment.

Singhik Viewpoint
Singhik View Point is that frame that portrays Lachung’s beauty at its best. The location will proffer you picturesque charm, and you would be left with no option but to hold your camera and click some great landscape pictures.

Seven Sister Waterfall
High on beauty quotient, Seven Sister waterfall will give you an astonishing experience with its harmoniously arranged sideways waterfalls. It is one of the must-visit places of Sikkim where these natural wonders flow ferociously making thunderous sound that echoes melodiously in the ears of visitors.

In the midpoint, you will have a stop at Namok, a small village where you can observe the lifestyle of local people while having lunch. Furthermore, Chungthang would be your next place of rest where you can sip your hot tea in freezing weather. After covering a long way, you can have a warm bath and sounding delicious supper in the lodge itself. Later, you can slumber between your warm blanket and cushiony bed.
Day 4
It is the 4th day of your trip, prepare yourself to encounter the bountiful excellence of nature. It’s time to visit the Yumthang valley early in the morning.

Yumthang Valley
Located at the height of 11,800 ft above sea level, this paradise will leave you bewitched because it contains an unexpected variety of flowers giving it its name- ‘The Valley of Flower’. Apart from blossoms, you will also come into contact with diverse species such as Yark, Billy goats, Horses and a magnificent diversification of Rhododendron trees in the valley. Subsequently, you will return to the hotel for your meal. Take care of your diet and luggage because, prior lunch, you have to depart for Gangtok for your further wanderlust.

The serenity of Bheem and Twin Waterfall
On the way back, you will witness the calmest and restful place in the lap of greenery which is also the serenity of a mythological character, Bheem. The place holds the attractiveness of pacifying Twin Waterfall where you can sense the quietness. With a long roadways journey, you can unwind yourself with good food and warm aura of your hotel in Gangtok.
Day 5
Don’t worry, your tour hasn’t come to an end yet because today is the the time when you will shop and shop and shop. After a refreshing breakfast, you will be travelling towards Darjeeling. Famous for its toy-train, Darjeeling is a jaw-dropping location which contains unblemished nature, enthralling scenery and generous welcomes of local people who are extremely proud of their hometown. This is the day of your leisure. Therefore, you can just relax and take a deep breath from all the hustle of your exciting trip. After a long day of rest, you are ready to shop for your loved ones from mall road, also known as Chowrasta, where vendors will present you the special and authentic local artefacts. At the end of the day, you can repose with luscious food of Darjeeling and get some rest for another thrilling day.
Day 6
In the last day of your excursion, you need to get up all bright and really early, say 4 am, to observe the first ray of sunrise at Mt. Kanchenjunga.

Tiger Hills
Tiger Hills has its peak at the altitude of 2590 m which is quite a fascinating point for crazy travellers who do not wish to miss even a single glance of natural magic. Standing on the Tiger Hill, you can closely observe the sun striking the peak of the third-highest mountain in the world, Mt. Kanchenjunga.


Ghoom Monastery
Having a blissful morning, you will be taken to the oldest Buddhist Monastery, Ghoom Monastery which was established by a monk and famous astrologer, Lama SherabGyatso in 1850.

Batasia Loop
It is a loop like railway track which is constructed by a team of experts to lower the slope of ascending Darjeeling. Rather just a railway track, it is that alluring location which will make you appreciate the work of the team. You will have the most amazing landscape view of Darjeeling from every angle only at Batasia Loop.

Himalayan Mountaineering Institute
In order to promote mountaineering amongst youth, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute is established where people from across the world come to learn more about mountaineering experience. As you next stop, you can also gain more knowledge about this adventure sport. Note: Better not visit the place on Thursdays because it remains close.

Tenzing Rock
After acknowledging about mountaineering, it is time for you to try a little practical. There is no better place than Tenzing Rock where all the mountaineers come to learn rock-related activities.

Chitrey Tea Garden
In the middle of a small mountain village of Darjeeling, there is a wonderful tea plantation which in a new hotspot for all the tourists. You are going here too. So, choose a perfect pose because you would not stop taking pictures of the place.

Finally, by the evening, you will have more time to wander on the mall road and Chowrasta
Day 7
Now it is time for you to take all the memories and reminiscences with you as you check out from the hotel after having your breakfast and leave for IXB while recollecting all the happy and tranquil moments.
